With inflation raging out of control, investors everywhere are looking for ways to preserve their wealth.
Historically, one of the best ways to achieve this is by investing in collectibles. Assets like classic cars, gold coins, and investment-grade wines have a long history of outperforming during tougher economic times.
I’ve been investing in collectibles all my life. I own investment-grade comic books, baseball cards, and gold coins. And I once had an expansive wine collection that I sold for $60,000.
But now, I’m planning to build a new collection: high-end whiskies.
Rare whiskies are among the most sought-after collectibles right now. So recently, I traveled to northern Scotland with Field Notes Managing Editor Ciaran Madden to investigate this trend for International Living magazine.
While there, I recorded a video to share some of my thoughts on collectibles in general and the whisky segment in particular. Check out the video below…
P.S. Tomorrow, Jennifer Stevens, International Living’s executive editor, will be joined by IL Senior Editor Suzan Haskins; founder of Real Estate Trend Alert, Ronan McMahon; Italy contributor, Chip Stites; and Social Security expert Steve Garfink for a very special Roundtable Discussion.
At this FREE online event, called the “What’s the Best Way to Go Overseas?” Roundtable, they’ll be highlighting the world’s best opportunities right now for good-value living, retirement, and investment, including the places most worth your attention today… where overseas real estate investment makes the most sense right now…and why this could well be the best time in history to go abroad.
Attendance at this special Roundtable Discussion is free to you as a Field Notes reader. Simply click this link to attend at noon Eastern time tomorrow (Wednesday, September 14).
