The BIG Crypto Upgrade Happening Soon…
Today we pay homage to speed.
It’s a life-changer.
Some examples to consider:
- Traveling from New York to England in the 1920s required 7 days of sailing. Today, the same journey is 7 hours in a metal tube up above the clouds.
- Boiling a few cups of water on a gas stovetop generally takes about three minutes, give or take. With an induction stovetop, an equal amount of water typically needs just under a minute.
- Back in the 1990s, rotting your brain on the internet required a tortoise-like dial-up connection of 56 kilobits per second that meant your house phone was out of service while you were surfing the net. Today, my broadband connection here in Lisbon runs at one gigabit, or 1 million kilobits—nearly 18,000x faster.
What I’m saying is that speed changes life for the better.
Which brings me to our topic today: My favorite crypto…
That crypto is Solana… which I jabber about all the time—here in Field Notes, over on Twitter, and in every crypto presentation I give at International Living conferences.
Even if 90% of the world has no clue about Solana or the blockchain, their daily lives will be taking place on the blockchain because the companies we use for banking, investing, gaming, online education, buying a Kit Kat at the Get-n-Go Mini Mart… all of that will soon be on the blockchain because the companies behind all those services will have moved them onto the blockchain for greater efficiency (i.e. speed).
It’s that efficiency I want to tell you about today.
Because that’s where the real wealth opportunity lies with Solana.
I say this all the time… but why not plagiarize myself? The analogy is that good.
The internet didn’t blow up into the infrastructure that it is today because humanity demanded a faster way to share cat pictures.
It exploded into a life-changing technology because businesses saw it as a faster and more efficient way to reach consumers… meaning a more profitable way to reach consumers. Products that never existed now exist solely because of high-speed internet. Think: online investing, PayPal, Airbnb, Netflix, Etsy, Amazon, GrubHub, Uber. The list is long.
The speedy transfer of digital data made all of that possible.
And now, Solana is the blockchain that will deliver the next leap forward in speed…
In the early years of the blockchain, proponents spoke gloriously of spending money by way of the blockchain—the idea that Gramps & Granny’s Get-n-Go Mini Mart would one day accept bitcoin and Ethereum for that Kit Kat bar.
Alas, we’ve not reached that world.
Primarily, that’s because the speed at which bitcoin and Ethereum process transactions is slower than a dial-up modem. Ethereum transactions need up to 30 minutes to clear; bitcoin requires as much as 90 minutes.
Not so useful, really.
Which is where we rejoin our Solana story…

At some point this year, likely in the next couple of months, a new technology—a speedier technology—will roll out on Solana. It goes by the name “Firedancer.”
In a digital nutshell, the Firedancer team has optimized the Solana blockchain, from coding to the hardware that validates Solana transactions.
The result: A blockchain that will run at 1 million transactions per second or more.
And at that level, we’re talking about fundamentally changing our lives at the daily-spend level.
We return to Gramps & Granny’s Get-n-Go Mini-Mart…
We’ll walk in and buy that Kit Kat and scan our phone across the point-of-sale terminal, just like we do today. So for us, nothing really changes at a practical level.
But under the hood, at an operational level, the movement of money is entirely different.
Everything will happen on the blockchain at speeds and costs that have previously been unattainable.
Transactions today take hours or even days to fully clear… on the blockchain that will happen instantaneously.
That represents a potentially massive cost savings in the system. Merchants collecting their sales revenue immediately flows back through the system—to wholesalers collecting their revenue, to maintenance and repairmen who do work for Gramps & Granny’s. And it allows the merchant to deposit money into savings sooner so that they can begin earning interest sooner on their bank account.
Scale that up to companies with multi-billion-dollar revenue streams, and banks that want to cut time and cost out of the system because it plumps up their bottom line, and you begin to see the benefit from a million transactions per second.
For reference, that would make Solana-based payment systems 500 times more powerful than Visa, which currently operates at 1,700 transactions per second.
Already, Mastercard, PayPal, Shopify, and other financial-services firms have partnered with Solana, the implication being that El Jefe’s Vision for Tomorrow is actually taking shape today behind the scenes. Financial companies want this because of those cost savings they’re salivating over.
And if you think backwards from that point, you begin to see the benefit of owning a piece of the infrastructure—the Solana network, or said a different way, the Solana cryptocurrency that runs that network.

Then, you play that forward and wonder: OK, what other companies and crypto projects benefit?
Well, a lot, actually… and that’s exactly what I’ll be talking about in my free summit on Sunday—along with the pro-crypto actions Trump has taken that could supercharge this trend… and how that affects where you should put your money. (To register for the event—just click here.)
I’ve been deeply entrenched in the Solana ecosystem now for going on four years, and I’ve spent a lot of time researching projects, talking to teams, and putting my own money to work in services on the Solana blockchain… and I’m looking forward to sharing more details with you at my event tomorrow.
Speed is once again changing our lives fundamentally.
It’s unfolding even as I write this sentence, and it will become globally apparent when Firedancer is live on Solana.

Solana network.
Own the network that makes 1 million transactions per second possible—i.e., own Solana. And own smaller cryptos on that network that will rake in substantial profits as Solana becomes the blockchain we all use for everyday living.
Be sure to tune into my special event on this massive crypto upgrade on Sunday…
